7 Unusual Uses of Banana

You will never look or treat bananas the same after this. If there is anything I regret most in my life, it would be throwing away bananas’ peel right after eating them. As you probably quite rightly know, bananas are rich of beauty-boosting vitamins such as A, B, C and E and other minerals as well such as potassium, iron and zinc. They are also rich with antioxidants and amino acids that provide nutrients and the care your skin and hair need. All of this makes bananas so versatile in many areas. No matter what you are interested in, be it health or beauty, believe me, bananas can and will come in handy for you.

Below are 7 unusual uses of bananas and bananas’ peel. Of course, there are a lot of uses, but we only settled for what we deemed most useful. So, here goes.

1- A Banana is a Good Dry Skin Moisturizer

Tired of artificial products that are no good when it comes to moisturizing your skin? Just mash a banana into a bowl and apply it on your skin. Make sure you leave it there for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off your face with lukewarm water and then follow it up with a cold-water wash. This will do your dry skin a world of good. Also, say goodbye to expensive lotions.

2- A Banana Can Rid You of Oily Skin

Throw a green banana and three teaspoons of lemon juice in a mix and grind them. Apply them on your skin While the vitamin C and potassium the banana offers give our skin the proper care it needs, the acids found in the lemon juice will break down the oil in your skin as well as rid you of black heads. I mean, talk about a win-win situation for people with oily skin.

A word of caution: try to keep this mask away from your eyes.

3- Bananas Are Good for Itchy Scalps and Dry Hair

Just to keep it simple and so as not to bore you out, the oils and potassium a banana offers are key to your scalp and hair the health. Again, throw two bananas into a blender and toss in ½  avocado and some yogurt. You’ll end up with what looks like a creamy banana yogurt. Apply the creamy mixture to your hair and slowly massage your scalp with it; wait at least 15 minutes before rinsing out with lukewarm water.
